Job summary

Liebherr-Australia Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking a Materials Coordinator to optimise inventory and coordinate distribution across branches and locations. You will manage end-to-end product and supply lifecycle to ensure availability and alignment with business requirements.

The role centres on inventory optimisation, lifecycle management and proactive risk planning, working with stakeholders to drive data-driven improvements and better service levels.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory management, materials planning, purchasing or supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Optimise inventory levels to support service and working capital targets.
  • Monitor stock availability and drive DIFOT performance.
  • Manage safety stock settings in line with company policies.
  • Identify and reduce surplus, excess and slow-moving inventory.
  • Coordinate inventory distribution across branches and locations.
  • Analyse inventory performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Maintain accurate inventory master data and system integrity.
  • Support CSI and quality-related inventory initiatives.
  • Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory reports, documentation and records.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for effective inventory management throughout the end to end product/ supply lifecycle, ensuring inventory is available and appropriately distributed through the Liebherr Australia network and aligned to meet strategic business requirements. The role focuses on inventory optimisation, lifecycle management, and proactive supply risk planning to support availability, minimise exposure, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Key Responsiblities
  • Optimise inventory levels to support service and working capital targets
  • Monitor stock availability and drive DIFOT performance
  • Manage safety stock settings in line with company policies

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in inventory management, materials planning, purchasing or supply chain operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Well-developed computer skills and experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment toachieving outcomes
Preferred
  • Supply Chain, Logistics or Inventory Management qualification
  • Several years of experience within parts, inventory or supply chain environments
  • Experience working within industrial, mining, heavy equipment or manufacturing sectors
Highly Regarded
  • Certificate IV in Purchasing or equivalent
  • Experience with BAAN or similar ERP systems
  • Knowledge of inventory optimisation, demandplanning or Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP)
