Job summary

Perigon Group in Sydney is seeking a Trade Settlements Officer on a 6-month contract to join Market Operations. The role is hybrid (3 days on site) in Sydney CBD and focuses on ensuring trades are matched, confirmed, and settled across equities, fixed income, and other products.

The team works closely with custodians, dealers and front office; you will investigate fails, support cash flow settlements, and help implement efficiency improvements. Start early November.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in trade settlements or market operations.
• Strong understanding of the settlement lifecycle across asset classes.
• Good knowledge of Australian financial markets and market participants.
• Experience resolving trade fails and cash breaks under deadlines.
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise multiple requests.
• Exposure to SWIFT, CTM, Austraclear or CHESS is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Match, confirm and settle trades across multiple asset classes.
• Confirm and settle future cash flows.
• Investigate and resolve failed trades and cash breaks.
• Act as key contact for custodians, brokers and front office.
• Set up new trading counterparties in the operations system.
• Manage team inbox and respond to queries on time.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce risk.
• Contribute to team projects and cross-training.
