Flinders University is seeking a capable Higher Education Officer to lead the marketing and communications for its fundraising program. You will craft donor-focused content, manage campaigns, and coordinate multimedia to showcase the impact of philanthropy.
The role emphasizes storytelling, engagement with donors and prospective supporters, and collaboration across teams to deliver high-quality communications aligned with university guidelines.
Join Flinders University's Advancement team and use your marketing and communications expertise to help inspire philanthropy that changes lives.
This is an opportunity for a confident, creative and strategically minded marketing and communications professional to shape how Flinders shares the powerful story of giving. Working across donor acquisition, retention and engagement, you will develop compelling communications that connect supporters with the real‑world impact of their generosity — from widening access to education and supporting student success, to advancing research that meets the community's most pressing needs. Through donor impact reports, cases for support, appeals, events communications and the University's Impact of Giving publications, you will play a central role in strengthening philanthropic engagement and ensuring the impact of giving at Flinders is recognised with clarity, warmth and purpose.
You are a natural collaborator who excels at planning ahead, communicating proactively, and coordinating a wide range of people and tasks to keep projects on track and delivered to a consistently high standard.
You take pleasure in writing and bring both creativity and precision to your craft — your exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills are second to none.
You have extensive experience in and detailed knowledge of contemporary and best practice communications, multimedia and marketing campaigns, and you feed your creativity by staying abreast of new ideas and practices.
And finally, you are inspired to work in a for‑purpose environment where your efforts will change lives for the better. Ideally, you already have experience developing communications for donor and prospective donor audiences.
It is expected that the successful candidate will have completed a degree in communications, media studies, marketing or a related discipline with subsequent relevant experience or have an equivalent combination of experience, education or training.
