Job summary

Flinders University in Bedford Park invites an Alumni Engagement Partner to strengthen connections with graduates locally, nationally and internationally through engagement, communications and lifelong learning initiatives. You will work across the University to create opportunities for alumni to stay connected and contribute to the University's success.

You will leverage alumni data to measure impact, coordinate events, and foster partnerships with benefactors, students and researchers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in alumni relations, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop engaging content across multiple channels.
• Strong relationship-building capabilities and the confidence to engage diverse stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience coordinating events and engagement activities in a dynamic environment.

Position Description

As the Alumni Engagement Partner, you will play a key role in strengthening connections with graduates locally, nationally and internationally through innovative engagement, communications and lifelong learning initiatives. Working collaboratively across the University, you will create meaningful opportunities for alumni to stay connected, contribute to the University's success and support Flinders' strategic priorities through advocacy, volunteering, philanthropy and professional engagement. You will also leverage alumni data and insights to enhance engagement, recognise alumni contributions and measure the impact of programs and communications. This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan of changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035. By fostering meaningful connections across our student, staff and alumni communities, the position helps strengthen lifelong engagement, advancing a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence that enables us to achieve more together.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering alumni engagement programs, communications and lifelong learning initiatives that foster meaningful connections, recognise alumni contributions and inspire participation in University life.
• Building strong partnerships across the University to create and coordinating opportunities for alumni engagement, advocacy, volunteering, recruitment, philanthropy and strategic relationship building.
• Developing, maintaining and utilising alumni data, records and insights to support engagement activities, informing decision-making, measuring outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
• Fostering relationships with alumni, benefactors, students, researchers and other key stakeholders to strengthen the alumni experience and advance the University's local, national and global community.

About You

You are a relationship-focused, highly organised and confident engagement professional who is passionate about building communities and creating meaningful stakeholder experiences. An excellent communicator, you are comfortable engaging with a wide range of people, building strong relationships and representing the organisation at events and stakeholder activities. With a strategic mindset and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, you thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and enjoy using data-driven approaches to strengthen engagement outcomes and deliver measurable results.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience in alumni relations, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop engaging content across multiple channels.
• Strong relationship-building capabilities and a track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders, with the confidence to engage and communicate with people at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, multitask effectively and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment, while coordinating and delivering events and engagement activities.
• Experience with Client Relationship Management systems (highly regarded).
• The ideal candidate will also hold qualifications in communications, media studies, marketing, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of experience and / or education and / or training.

Office of Alumni and Advancement

The Alumni Relations team is committed to actively engaging our graduates in the life of the University through meaningful programs, benefits, services, and communications. The Alumni team also help facilitate class reunions, as well as provide opportunities for professional development, mentoring and presenting. The Advancement team initiate and develop fundraising activities for the University, due to the strong support from its community of donors.
