Job summary

R&M Marine Services in Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula is seeking a semi-qualified or fully qualified marine technician to join our busy service department.

As an authorised Yamaha Dealer, you will carry out general inboard and outboard repairs and servicing, follow manager directions, report progress, and keep work areas tidy. Ongoing training is provided to help you advance your skills and career.

Applicants from automotive backgrounds will be considered; salary is dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Certified or Accredited Mechanic or Marine Mechanic OR Third Year Apprentice.
• Experience in a related role.
• Ability to follow procedures and complete jobs on time.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general inboard and outboard mechanical repairs and servicing work.
• Take direction from Manager regarding work to be completed.
• Report to Manager on progress and quality of work.
• Ensure all work areas are left clean and equipment maintained.
• Adherence to company policies including OHS and quality procedures.
• Ongoing training.

Located in Rosebud on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, R & M Marine Services is a marine workshop with an exciting opportunity for a motivated and knowledgeable Mechanic to join our busy Service Department. As an authorised Yamaha Dealer, we offer ongoing training and development to help you build your skills and advance your career.

We’re looking for a semi-qualified or fully qualified, trade-experienced Mechanic who is reliable, enthusiastic and flexible, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. The successful applicant will be confident working independently while also contributing to a supportive team environment.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

Carry out general inboard and outboard mechanical repairs and servicing work, including maintenance and overhaul, using hand and power tools and other machinery as required.

Take direction from Manager regarding work to be completed.

Report to Manager on a regular basis regarding progress and quality of work.

Ensure all work areas are left clean at the end of each day, and company equipment is maintained as required.

Adherence to company policies and procedures, including (but not limited to) OHS and quality procedures.

Ongoing training.

Skills and Experience Required:

Certified or Accredited Mechanic or Marine Mechanic OR Third Year Apprentice.

Prior experience in a related role.

Demonstrated ability to follow company procedures.

Demonstrated ability to complete jobs in a timely manner and to quality standards.

High level of recording tasks and materials.
