Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads seeks a permanent MO3 in Maritime Safety Queensland to lead regulatory, compliance and enforcement activities across Gladstone North. You will apply maritime expertise to support safer waterways through on-water operations, investigations, stakeholder engagement and pollution preparedness.

Role combines on-water duties with field work, community engagement and environmental protection, with employer-funded training where required.

Qualifications

• MSIC check including criminal history.
• Valid Queensland C class driver licence.
• Current first aid certificate or ability to obtain one.
• Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal certificate (or higher).
• Certificate IV in Government Investigations or ability to obtain within six months.

Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions

The following are mandatory requirements needed to receive appropriate delegations and perform the accountabilities of this position:

• Pass a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) check that includes a criminal history check.
• Hold a valid Queensland C class driver licence.
• Hold a current first aid certificate or have the ability to obtain one.
• Hold a Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal certificate of competency or higher.
• Hold a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or have the ability to obtain one within six months of commencement.
