Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Gladstone is offering a permanent Marine Officer Grade 3 role to lead regulatory, compliance and enforcement activities across Gladstone North. Use your maritime expertise to support safer, cleaner waterways through on-water operations, investigations and stakeholder engagement.

The position covers marine safety and environmental protection, with varied on-water and field work and employer-funded training where required.

Qualifications

• Pass a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) check that includes a criminal history check.
• Hold a valid Queensland C class driver licence.
• Hold a current first aid certificate or have the ability to obtain one.
• Hold a Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal certificate of competency or higher.
• Hold a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or have the ability to obtain one within six months of commencement.
