Job summary

SeaLink South East Queensland in Cleveland, QLD is offering a full-time Marine Mechanic Apprenticeship. You will gain hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a diverse vessel fleet, with mentorship and study to complete a Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology (AUR31520).

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in mechanical, diesel, automotive or marine industries.
• Willing to learn and commit to work and study (TAFE QLD).
• Mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how things work.
• Commitment to safety and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and general mechanical repairs on vessels and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify marine mechanical and engineering issues.
• Safely use hand tools, workshop equipment, and diagnostic technology.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and industry best practice.
• Work with modern diesel engine and marine technology systems.
• Complete and apply the learning required to achieve your trade qualification.
• Maintain vessels and equipment to high safety and operational standards.
