Job summary

SeaLink South East Queensland is offering a full-time Marine Mechanic Apprenticeship to join our maintenance team in Queensland. You will learn servicing, diagnostics, and repair of a diverse vessel fleet, with both onboard and land-based work and mentoring from experienced staff.

Ideal applicants are motivated to learn, safety-focused, and keen to gain a national trade qualification through TAfe QLD while contributing to vessel readiness and operational safety.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and interest in how things work.

• Ability to work onboard vessels and in workshops.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and general mechanical repairs on a range of vessels and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify marine mechanical issues.
• Safely use hand tools, workshop equipment, and diagnostic technology.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and industry best practice.
• Work with modern diesel engine and marine technology systems.
• Complete and apply learning to achieve trade qualification.
• Maintain vessels and equipment to high operational and safety standards.
