Job summary

Seatech Marine on the Gold Coast is seeking skilled Marine Technicians to join our crew. We work on vessels from tenders to 200-foot yachts and use a well-stocked parts department and mobile service fleet.

If you are a qualified mechanical tradesperson with marine engine and electrical experience, you’ll fit our supportive team. Brisbane-based applicants encouraged, but in-country with marine experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson with marine background preferred.
• Experience with engines, drivetrains, and 12v electrical systems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Boat licence a plus.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining marine engines and drivetrains.

• Re-powering vessels as needed.

While marine experience is preffered we are also interested in talking with individuals from other mechanical fields such as Diesel Mechanics / Fitters and automotive mechanics that may be looking for a change. 2nd or 3rd year Apprentices are also encourgaed to apply.

The Role

As a Marine Technician at Seatech, your duties will include:

• Servicing & maintaining marine engines and drivetrains (mainly Volvo Penta and similar)

• Diagnosing and repairing engine & vessel systems

• Maintaining marine generators (Kohler, Onan, and others)

• Re-powering vessels

• Maintianing vessel oprating systems

• Performing on-water testing, collections, and deliveries

• Communicating clearly with both the team and customers

• Work can be performed on and offsite in marinas or at customers location

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson (marine background preferred, but other mechanical trades welcome)

• Experience with engines drivelines and 12v electrical systems

• Excellent diagnosis and troubleshooting skills

• Strong work ethic — self-motivated, reliable, and a team player

• Passion for boats and being on the water

• Valid driver’s licence (boat licence a plus)

• Brisbane-based applicants are also encouraged to apply as we have plenty of clients in the area but for this you must have marine experience!
