Job summary

Austral Construction is seeking site-based HSE Advisors to join our busy team on a FIFO roster, delivering health, safety and environmental outcomes on marine and civil projects from Brisbane/Perth. You will support Project Managers and Site Supervisors with planning, compliance and on-site coordination.

Minimum 2 years HSE experience, 1–2 years in construction or mining, and strong communication are required. Certificate IV training is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a HSE role.
• 1-2 years of construction or mining industry experience.
• Strong HSE focus with a commitment to uphold mission and core values.
• Certificate IV Training and Assessment desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Administer project Health Safety Environmental Plans.
• Administer HSE registers and inspections.
• Carry out safety and environmental inspections, toolbox talks, safety interactions, SWMS/JHA surveillances and START Card inspections and reviews.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with set procedures and requirements.
• Investigate all incidents with efficiency, implement corrective actions and ensure debriefs are conducted with teams.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Establish, communicate and roll out specific Standard Operating Procedures for tasks.
