Job summary

Geoscience Australia, the nation's premier public sector geoscience organisation, is seeking a skilled professional for seabed and coastal mapping within the Marine and Coastal Geoscience (MCG) Section. You will work in a multidisciplinary team delivering data, maps and expert guidance to support environmental stewardship and marine planning.

Qualifications

• Relevent Earth, coastal, marine or geospatial science background.
• Experience with GIS for mapping, analysis or visualization.
• Seabed, coastal or geoscience interpretation is desirable; bathymetry knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Map, characterise and assess seabed and coastal landforms using geoscience data.
• Integrate evidence to develop geological interpretations with clear rationale.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team to meet end-user needs.
• Deliver robust seabed mapping products and scientific outputs for environmental stewardship.
• Develop and improve seabed mapping procedures and geospatial tools.
