Job summary

Tydra in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on Marine CAD Designer to turn watercraft concepts into buildable CAD data, guiding designs from concept through CAD to the workshop and then onto the water. You will create detailed CAD for hulls, decks, mechanical systems and powertrain integration, manage assemblies and issue fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years strong marine industry experience.
• 3+ years CAD design or drafting experience.
• Advanced CAD skills with SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Strong understanding of tolerances, fits and assembly.
• Detail-oriented with proactive problem solving.
• Excellent communication with engineers and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed, production-ready CAD for hull and deck structures.
• Develop and manage assemblies and detailed component designs.
• Produce fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings.
• Maintain CAD standards and revision control.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and suppliers to solve issues.
• Support prototypes on the floor and feed learnings back to CAD.
• Ensure components fit and work across mechanical, electrical, and structural interfaces.
