Job summary

GC Marine is seeking a skilled AutoCAD Draftsperson to join our Arundel-based Engineering Department. You will create accurate AutoCAD drawings and manage the pontoon approval process.

You will contact clients for approval updates and liaise with statutory agencies to discuss approval stages, while providing layout solutions and collaborating with engineers to deliver practical marine berthing projects.

Qualifications

• AutoCAD design knowledge and experience is essential.
• Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with understanding the fabrication process and drawing practically fabri-cable components.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and interpret relevant Australian Standards.
• Creativity that understands practicality.
• High attention to detail.
• Good communication skills to contact clients and government agencies as part of the pontoon approval process.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage projects while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate AutoCAD drawings and manage pontoon approval process.
• Phone clients for approval updates and contact statutory agencies (Councils, Waterways, Maritime Safety Queensland, SARA, DETSI) during approvals.
• Collaborate with Engineers and draftsmen to bring marine berthing projects to life.
