Job summary

CommBank is seeking a Manager Trade Support in Sydney to lead a specialist team responsible for collateral, futures, brokerage and reconciliations. You will partner with Trading, Sales, Treasury, Risk, Finance and Technology to ensure accurate, timely operations in a regulated environment.

The role requires demonstrated people leadership, strong stakeholder management and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced trading setting. Hybrid work with in-office presence is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Markets, Market Operations, Trade Support, Middle Office or Treasury Operations.
• Strong knowledge of Collateral Management, Futures Operations, Brokerage processing and Reconciliations.
• Proven people leadership including coaching, performance management and development.
• Risk and controls mindset in a regulated environment.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

At CommBank, our Market Operations team plays a critical role in supporting the Global Markets business and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our trading activities.

We're looking for a Manager Trade Support to lead a team of around six specialists responsible for the end-to-end management of Collateral, Futures, Brokerage and Reconciliation activities. This is a people leadership role where you'll combine operational excellence, stakeholder management and risk oversight to support a fast-paced trading environment.

The Role

As Manager Trade Support, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for the daily management and control of collateral obligations, futures operations, brokerage processing and reconciliations across a range of financial market products.

You’ll partner closely with Trading, Sales, Treasury, Risk, Finance and Technology teams to ensure operational activities are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with regulatory and risk management requirements.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of 6 specialists
• Managing collateral operations, including margin calls, dispute resolution and collateral movements
• Overseeing futures processing activities and ensuring timely completion of operational obligations
• Managing brokerage payments and associated controls
• Ensuring daily reconciliations are completed accurately and exceptions are investigated and resolved promptly
• Monitoring operational risks, identifying control gaps and driving remediation activities
• Building strong relationships with Front Office, Finance, Risk and external counterparties
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls and service outcomes
• Providing insightful management reporting and operational performance updates
• Supporting the implementation of new products, system enhancements and regulatory change initiatives
• Escalating operational issues and incidents appropriately and ensuring effective resolution

We're Interested In Hearing From People Who Have

• Experience within Financial Markets, Market Operations, Trade Support, Middle Office or Treasury Operations
• Strong knowledge of Collateral Management, Futures Operations, Brokerage processing and Reconciliations
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and team development
• A strong risk and controls mindset within a highly regulated environment
• Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment

Ideally You’ll Also Bring

• Experience supporting derivative, fixed income, FX or other financial markets products
• Exposure to operational change, process improvement and transformation initiatives
• Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory requirements and market infrastructure
