Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Manager, Technology Enablement (Technical Business Analyst) in Mascot Campus to partner with Qantas Loyalty Tribes and Squads, uncovering real business needs and defining technical requirements and solutions.

You will drive Agile ceremonies, liaise across technical and business teams, and help plan tasks, estimate workloads, and manage risks to deliver high-value technology outcomes for Qantas and its loyalty programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Significant experience working within an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Proficiency with Swagger, Postman, JIRA and Confluence.
  • Passion for emergent tech, AI and Innovation.
  • Willingness to embrace new tech in the role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system analysis by reviewing system and enterprise architecture to assess technical behaviors, structures, and essential features.
  • Document business requirements, workflows, technical rules, user stories, and acceptance criteria with input from teams and subject matter experts.
  • Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies to support software development and product processes.
  • Serve as a liaison to facilitate effective communication across technical, business, and delivery teams.
  • Support task decomposition and assist in estimating workload for project planning.
  • Continuously assess and identify potential opportunities, constraints, risks, and issues impacting projects and operations.
  • Identify and support initiatives for cost reduction and service simplification within the IT domain.
  • Investigate, analyze, and report on defects to aid in solution refinement and quality assurance.

The Manager, Technology Enablement (Technical Business Analyst) is a critical business partner aligned to Qantas Loyalty Tribes and/or Squads to co-create technology solutions to address unmet member needs. A technology expert responsible for uncovering true business needs and defining technical requirements and solutions.

The role also acts as a conduit between the Qantas Loyalty Tribes and the broader Technology Enablement Functions. The role calls for a balance of technology acumen and influencing skills to proactively plan for, and manage, all interactions with technology business partners to lead innovation and continuous improvement into Qantas Loyalty and Qantas Group where possible.

You’ll have:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Significant experience working within an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Swagger, Postman, JIRA, and Confluence preferred
  • Passion for emergent tech, AI and Innovation
  • Some comprehension and use of AI tools, ability to embrace new tech utilisation within their role and broader business
