Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Data Product Analyst to join the Loyalty business on a 12-month fixed-term basis at the Mascot campus. You will work with complex data to build data products that support analytics across customer, member, marketing, digital and partner insights.

You will manipulate large datasets, model data, and partner with leadership to translate insights into actionable business outcomes. Strong SQL/Teradata and Tableau experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 18 months+ experience in a Data & Analytics role.
  • Tertiary degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or related analytical field.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to relate insights to value creation levers.
  • Proven track record turning raw data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Experience extracting and manipulating large data volumes with SQL, Teradata preferred.
  • Prior experience with Tableau.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Problem solving mindset focused on business challenges with data.

Working closely with leadership, the Data Product Analyst works directly with complex datasets to deliver high-impact, high-quality data products that form the foundation for business-embedded analytics teams. In this role, you will actively manipulate and analyse large datasets to build data products that drive productivity across customer, member, marketing, digital, and partner insights.

Critical to the success of this position is the ability to understand the needs of stakeholders and the importance of insights to driving business outcomes. Day to day duties include the usage of complex data analytics and data modelling.

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • 18 months+ experience in a Data & Analytics role
  • Tertiary degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or related analytical field.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how to relate insights to the levers of value creation.
  • Commitment, professionalism, respect and a ‘can-do’ attitude in any situation
  • Previous experience in turning raw data into actionable, value-adding insights and recommendations, with a proven track record of success
  • Experience in extracting and manipulating large volume data with SQL, with direct experience with the Teradata platform preferred.
  • Prior experience in Tableau desired
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • A problem solving mindset focused on solving business challenges with the data available
