The panel will be assessing applicants against the following suitability requirements:
  • Significant experience developing strategic policy, program management, legislative reform, governance frameworks and organisational improvement initiatives within complex public sector or regulatory environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Western Australian Government legislative, Cabinet and Ministerial processes, including experience developing or supporting legislative reform and Cabinet-related materials.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, sensitive and cross-functional reform work, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within challenging timeframes.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, build capability and foster a high-performing, collaborative and accountable culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent an agency in cross-government, inter-agency or interjurisdictional forums and build productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Highly developed conceptual, research, analytical and risk assessment skills, with the ability to turn complex issues into sound recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of Cabinet-related materials, briefing notes, legislative instructions, policy papers and correspondence.
Why Join Us?

  • A leadership role supporting team capability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible working arrangements that support work-life balance.
  • Ongoing learning, development and career opportunities across DTMI and the wider Transport Portfolio.
