Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a permanent full-time professional to lead and manage the delivery of strategic asset services within the Infrastructure Operations Directorate. You will develop plans, allocate resources, mitigate risks and ensure alignment with government priorities and contracts.

The role also involves guiding staff, delivering strategic projects, and fostering a safe, inclusive work environment.

Job description

This is a permanent full-time position commencing November 2026

Education Business Services (EBS) is the key provider of professional business services and support for Western Australian public schools, statutory boards and divisions of the Department. These highly valued services are delivered through the areas of finance, information and communication technologies (ICT), and infrastructure. We continually strive to enhance the capability and responsiveness of our staff, systems and processes across the organisation to deliver high quality education.

The Infrastructure division has responsibility for the planning and provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment), which includes land planning, student enrolment forecasting and facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, maintenance and minor works programs and provision of facilities related services.

The Strategic Asset Services branch is part of the Infrastructure Operations Directorate. The Branch provides advice, training and support for gardening, cleaning and environmental health matters, such as mould, site contamination, water use and asbestos. It also manages the Department’s contracts, licences and agreements.

The Role

The successful applicant will manage the delivery of quality, professional and responsive strategic asset services, and will contribute to the strategic management and leadership of the Directorate. They will be expected to develop plans and systems to deliver designated outcomes, mitigate risks, minimise operational costs and promote service capabilities.

They will deploy resources, including people, financial, physical and information, to ensure they are available to address the Directorate’s strategic plans, contractual obligations and other organisational priorities. The will additionally lead and manage strategic projects, as required and will ensure that strategic asset service outputs are consistent with the strategic business priorities and objectives of the Department and Government.

This applicant will also provide leadership, supervision and support of staff and encourage and assist with the development and implementation of strategic asset services. They will create a work environment that is safe, fosters equity and diversity, enables the achievement of personal and Education Business Services (EBS) goals and facilitates accomplishment of designated roles and deliverables.
