Department of Education, Western Australia is inviting applications for Education Officer roles across the Enterprise Governance and Partnerships Division. These fixed‑term opportunities support planning, implementation, and evaluation of system‑wide educational reform programs across Western Australia.

Eligibility includes current registration with the Teacher Registration Board. Roles include Education Officer Levels 3 and 2 (Program Management Office; Generative AI Pilot).

Job description

This talent register is an online portal that allows you to register your interest for fixed term, full‑time and part‑time opportunities up to twelve (12) months for a range of key positions across the division.

The Enterprise Governance and Partnerships Division drives high performance at a system level by providing senior leaders with visibility and assurance of system performance and improvement initiatives and confidence in the management of key external partnerships. We do this by:

• ensuring strategic responses and projects are delivered within expectations underpinned by quality project and program management methodologies
• improving oversight of high-level strategic priorities and projects through increased visibility and quality assurance
• aligning governance standards to the strategic significance and complexity of initiatives
• supporting evidence-based decision making through effective use of intelligence and data
• developing and maintaining effective partnerships to support strategic alignment and positive relationships both within and external to the Department, including with higher and international education stakeholders

Our Division

EGP consists of the following areas of work:

• researching the viability of concepts and developing recommendations that guide strategic development to transformational initiatives, preparing the Department for the future
• driving and providing oversight of responses and initiatives that facilitate the delivery of the Department’s strategic intent
• using project management methodologies to underpin collaboration, standardisation and the on‑time, on‑budget delivery of key project metrics
• monitoring of progress and risks associated with delivering agency, government and Minister priorities
• providing assurance of system performance across a range of initiatives
• strategic policy and planning functions for higher education across Western Australia, providing high‑level advice to the Minister, Director General and senior executives on higher education matters
• developing and implementing policies and initiatives aligned with State and National objectives
• representing the Department in key intergovernmental forums and negotiations

The Roles

The Education Officer roles play a pivotal part in supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of specialist teaching and learning services aligned with the Department’s strategic direction. The roles require knowledge on whole‑school approaches, curriculum knowledge, and proven effective teaching and learning pedagogies to work collaboratively across the division, regions and business units, to provide a teaching perspective and contributing to the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of system‑wide educational reform programs, projects and strategies aligned with the Department’s priorities.

It involves providing subject‑matter expertise, analysing performance data and preparing high‑level reports and briefings for the Executive Director, Director General and the Minister. The positions also support system‑wide initiatives and reform programs by facilitating integrated service delivery, consulting with stakeholders and contributing to the design and implementation of innovative, context‑responsive solutions. This facilitates opportunities for teachers to access practical support that drives continuous improvement in education across Western Australia.

Eligibility to register or current registration with the Teacher Registration Board is a requirement of this role.
