Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a senior Contract Manager to lead contract management, procurement governance and commercial assurance for the Sydney Metro project from its Sydney base.

You will develop systems and governance frameworks to minimise risk, strengthen supplier performance and deliver value-for-money outcomes while guiding a skilled team and engaging across government and industry.

In this role, you'll:

• Manage a collaborative team delivering effective contract management, procurement governance and commercial assurance for the award-winning Sydney Metro project.
• You will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of contract management systems, procurement strategies and governance frameworks helping minimise contractual and probity risks, strengthen supplier performance and support the delivery of value-for-money and best-for-project outcomes.
• You will help your team build strong relationships across integrated project teams, government agencies, service providers and contractors to navigate complex commercial matters and deliver practical solutions in a high‑profile infrastructure environment.
• The role also provides an opportunity to lead and develop others, influence senior stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing improvement of contract management practices across Sydney Metro.
• This is a temporary fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027. The role is based at 680 George Street and offers Transport Flexible working hybrid arrangements.
• Your commercial judgement, leadership capability and contract management expertise, developed across government, transport, infrastructure, construction, professional services or similarly complex environments, will enable you to provide trusted advice, identify emerging contractual risks and guide effective mitigation strategies.
• You are recognised as an ethical, collaborative and outcomes‑focused leader who can balance competing priorities while maintaining strong governance and accountability.
• You are skilled at influencing and negotiating with diverse stakeholders, resolving complex commercial issues and establishing productive supplier relationships.
• A strong working knowledge of NSW Government procurement policies and guidelines, together with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience, will be essential to your success in the role.
