Job summary

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a Manager – Revenue to oversee the monitoring and reporting of grant and non-grant revenue, including Medicare and NDIS receipts. The role supports the CFO in maintaining robust financial systems and controls, while leading and developing staff.

The position is based in Alice Springs with relocation support where applicable; a degree in Commerce/Finance/Economics and CPA/CA eligibility are required, along with extensive senior accounting

Qualifications

  • Degree in Commerce, Finance or Economics and membership/eligibility for CPA/CA
  • Senior level accounting experience
  • Experience with computerised financial packages and payroll systems
  • Experience in long-term financial planning for large complex organisations
  • Excel proficiency for reporting and analysis
  • Experience preparing financial statements for senior management
  • Management and reconciliation of grant funding
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and reporting requirements
  • Strong decision-making, analytical and communication skills
  • People management experience and willingness to travel to remote locations

Responsibilities

  • Base Salary: $ 146,815 - $153,874 (p.a.).
  • Total Effective Package: $178,868 - $186,916 (p.a.) *
  • Full-Time Continuous Contract.

About the role

The Manager – Revenue is responsible for the monitoring and reporting within Congress of grant and non-grant revenue items. This includes Medicare, Practice Incentive Payments, National Disability Insurance Scheme receipts and assisting the Chief Financial Officer to develop and maintain a high-quality financial systems and internal controls.

This role will also involve overseeing and managing staff, ensuring effective team performance and development.

This role is based in Alice Springs; candidates are expected to live in Alice Springs and work at our Alice Springs offices.

To be considered for this position, you will require:
  • Degree qualification in Commerce, Finance or Economics (or equivalent), and membership or eligibility for membership of the Australian Society of CPA's or Institute of Chartered Accountants;
  • Extensive experience in direct accounting at a senior level;
  • Extensive experience in the use of computerised financial packages and payroll systems;
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of Long-Term Financial Plans for large and complex organisations.
  • Highly competent use of Excel spread sheets for analysing and reporting financial information;
  • Highly developed experience in the preparation and interpretation of financial statements for use by senior management;
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and reconciliation of grant funding;
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and professional reporting requirements;
  • Demonstrated sound decision-making skills, analytical and conceptual skills; and
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly report writing.
  • Demonstrated people management skills
  • Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations if required
