Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety’s Victims, Redress and System Reform (VRSR) division seeks a Manager, Redress Operations Support to lead services for people using redress schemes.

You will guide a diverse team and help deliver safe, fair and consistent services, including advising on policy, service delivery, and improvements across redress schemes.

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in regulated service settings.
• Strong knowledge of policy, service delivery and continuous improvement.

About us

Victims, Redress and System Reform (VRSR) is part of the Community Safety, Victims and Racing division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. VRSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime and the administration of redress schemes.

What you will do

As Manager, Redress Operations Support, you will lead services for people using redress schemes.

You will guide a diverse team and help deliver safe, fair and consistent services.

You will:

• lead a skilled team and support high-quality service delivery across redress schemes
• give clear advice on policy, service delivery and ways to improve operations
• manage budgets, staff processes, reporting, complaints and privacy matters
• prepare clear briefs on redress schemes, including plans to close schemes
• lead practical improvements and support other priorities across victims, redress and system reform.

About you

You need at least three years' experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in regulated service settings.

A tertiary qualification in social services, business or public administration is highly desirable.

You should also have:

• operational leadership experience in complex service systems, with a strong focus on outcomes
• project management experience, including compliance and reporting in service delivery settings
• systems thinking skills and the ability to improve services and solve complex problems
• people leadership skills, with resilience, empathy and respect for diverse views and backgrounds.
