Job summary

Peabody Energy invites applications for an experienced Prep Plant Manager to lead Centurion Mine’s CHPP and related support functions. Based ~160 km west of Mackay, you will drive reliability, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement within a revitalised underground operation.

You will oversee refurbishment and upgrade of the CHPP, align with the site leadership team, and foster a culture built on accountability and performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive operational and leadership experience within a CHPP environment.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary operational and maintenance teams.
• Exposure to CHPP upgrades, plant modifications or commissioning projects.
• Strong planning and reporting capabilities.
• Proven ability to apply continuous improvement to plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CHPP and associated support functions to optimise performance.
• Develop and maintain robust planning and scheduling processes for safe, efficient plant operations.
• Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of the site Maintenance Management Plan (MMP).
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, reporting and CI initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management Plan (SHMP) and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with site stakeholders to define inspection, maintenance and compliance requirements.
• Foster a strong safety culture through risk management, inspections and leadership in the field.

About the Role

Peabody has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prep Plant Manager to join our Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in establishing, optimising and leading the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) and associated support functions. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future performance of a newly revitalised underground mining operation by driving plant reliability, production efficiency, safety performance and continuous improvement.

As a key member of the site leadership team, you will lead the refurbishment and upgrade of the CHPP to support underground coal production while creating a high-performing culture built on accountability, operational excellence and safety.

• Provide leadership and direction to the CHPP Superintendent,Coordinatorsand contractor workforce.
• Develop andmaintainrobust planning and scheduling processes that deliver safe,efficientand reliable plant performance.
• Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of the site’s Maintenance Management Plan (MMP).
• Drive operational excellence through performance monitoring,reportingand continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management Plan (SHMP) and all relevant statutory obligations.
• Partner with site stakeholders to develop inspection,maintenanceand compliance requirements, including SOPs and operational standards.
• Foster a strong safety culture through effective risk management, audits,inspectionsand proactive leadership in the field.

About You

You are an experienced CHPP leader with a strong operational background and a proven ability to lead teams in complex mining environments. You bring a strategic mindset, a strong safety focus and the capability to drive plant performance while managing change and improvement projects.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Extensive operational and leadership experience within a Coal Handling and Preparation Plant environment.
• Previousexperience leading multidisciplinary operational and maintenance teams.
• Exposure to CHPP upgrades, plantmodificationsor commissioning projects.
• Strong planning and reporting capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience applying continuous improvement methodologies to enhance plant performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A strong commitment to safety leadership, riskmanagementand regulatory compliance.
• The ability to build and sustain high-performing teams in a dynamic operational environment.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification, or Engineering Degree.
• S1, S2 and S3 Supervisory Competencies.
• G2 and G3 Competencies.
