Job description

Lead Operations. Drive Improvement. Make a Difference.

Are you an experienced operations leader who thrives on solving complex logistical challenges, optimising resources and leading high-performing teams?

Do you enjoy turning data into decisions, improving service delivery and ensuring people, vehicles, schedules and systems work together seamlessly?

If you're looking for an opportunity to apply your operational expertise in a purpose-driven organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

About Us

Astley Care is a respected not-for-profit organisation providing high-quality aged care and community services throughout Perth's south-east metropolitan region. For more than 40 years, we have helped people remain living independently in their own homes through services including transport, gardening, social support, respite, personal care, nursing and community programs.

Our mission is simple: to provide choice, dignity and independence for the people we support every day.

About the Role

This newly created leadership role is responsible for leading Astley Care's operational service delivery functions, including Scheduling, Transport, Gardening and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). You will play a key role in ensuring resources, workforce capacity and service demand are aligned to deliver reliable, efficient and client-focused services.

Reporting to the General Manager Care Services, you will lead a team of operational leaders and oversee a diverse mobile workforce delivering essential community services across Perth's south-east metropolitan region.

You will be responsible for coordinating resources, forecasting demand, solving service delivery challenges, improving systems and leading operational improvement initiatives.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced operations, logistics, transport, field services, workforce planning or scheduling professional looking to apply their skills in a values-driven organisation where their work makes a real difference to the community.

You will have the opportunity to influence strategy, improve operational performance and help shape the future of community-based care services.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Astley Care's scheduling, transport, gardening and community services functions.
  • Coordinate workforce planning, resource allocation and service capacity to meet client demand.
  • Oversee scheduling and dispatch activities to ensure efficient utilisation of people, vehicles and resources.
  • Analyse operational data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage operational issues, service disruptions and competing priorities using sound judgement and structured problem-solving.
  • Lead projects, process improvements and system enhancements that improve productivity and client outcomes.
  • Support and develop frontline leaders to achieve operational objectives and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Monitor performance measures, service quality indicators and operational risks.
  • Work closely with care, clinical and corporate teams to ensure services remain client-focused and sustainable.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a highly capable and commercially minded operational leader with experience in logistics, transport, workforce planning, scheduling, field services, facilities management or another high-volume service environment.

This role has a strong systems and data focus. You will be comfortable using workforce management, scheduling, client management and reporting platforms to monitor performance, solve operational challenges and drive continuous improvement. Experience with AlayaCare, workforce management systems, scheduling platforms or similar technologies will be highly regarded.

You will bring:

  • Significant leadership experience in logistics, scheduling, transport, operations, field services or another high-volume service environment.
  • Experience coordinating mobile workforces, routes, schedules and competing resource demands.
  • Strong workforce planning, capacity management and resource optimisation skills.
  • Excellent IT systems capability and confidence in learning and improving operational systems.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Experience leading operational improvement initiatives, projects, or system implementations.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through change while maintaining service quality and employee engagement.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in Operations, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience in aged care, health or community services is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for an exceptional operational leader who can quickly learn our sector while bringing fresh thinking and operational expertise.

Why Join Astley Care?

At Astley Care, your work has purpose.

Every scheduling decision, service improvement and operational enhancement contributes to helping people remain independent, connected and supported in their own homes.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary package plus superannuation and generous salary packaging benefits.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities.
  • A collaborative, values-driven culture focused on choice, dignity and independence.
