Job summary

Corrective Services NSW at Junee Correctional Centre invites applications for a Manager and Operations Lead. In this senior role you will guide a dynamic team, drive local opportunities, manufacturing and facilities maintenance, delivering high-quality, commercially viable outcomes.

You will develop education, employment and vocational pathways for inmates, manage budgets, advise on procurement and contracts, and build strong stakeholder relationships to support growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Possess relevant trade qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Building or Facilities Maintenance related industry.
• Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Management, Project Management or Facilities Management that underpin the knowledge, capability and strategic insight required to deliver successful outcomes in this role.
• Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or willingness to complete within timeframe set out by CSNSW
• Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel to locations as required

Role Type: Ongoing, Full Time

Salary: $162,435 pa + Superannuation + Leave Loading

Your Role

Lead a dynamic team in driving local business opportunities, manufacturing and facilities maintenance operations while delivering high-quality, commercially viable outcomes. You’ll play a key role in creating meaningful education, employment and vocational development opportunities for inmates, helping build skills, confidence and pathways to employment beyond custody.

• Provide leadership, planning and technical direction for inmate work programs and CSI commercial or facilities maintenance operations.
• Provide high-level advice on technical, business, procurement and contract management matters.
• Develop and implement business development, marketing and facilities maintenance strategies aligned with CSI business plans and CSNSW direction.
• Manage staff performance, providing feedback and support to achieve organisational and professional development goals.
• Manage inmate employment, education and vocational training across multiple environments to achieve CSI outcomes.
• Build stakeholder relationships, identify local business opportunities and promote CSI capabilities to support business growth.
• Manage allocated budgets and resources effectively to meet operational objectives.

Essential Requirements

• Possess relevant trade qualifications in any of the following: Construction, Engineering, Building or Facilities Maintenance related industry.
• Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Management, Project Management or Facilities Management that underpin the knowledge, capability and strategic insight required to deliver successful outcomes in this role.
• Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or willingness to complete within timeframe set out by CSNSW
• Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel to locations as required

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in managing commercial, manufacturing and/or facilities maintenance operations
• Proven ability to provide high-level technical and management advice
• Demonstrated experience in managing and controlling operational budgets within a commercial or government framework
• Proven experience leading and managing staff across multiple disciplines
• Strong understanding of procurement, contract management and commercial frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results within a complex and high-risk operational environment
