Calvary Health Care is seeking the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics at Calvary Mater Newcastle. You will lead the department, set strategic direction and oversee operations to deliver equitable nutrition care for cancer patients and others in a major hospital setting.

• Remuneration: $71.27 - $73.00 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options

Position Description

The Head of Nutrition and Dietetics is responsible for the overall management, strategic direction and operations for the Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Calvary Mater Newcastle. The position works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary leaders and teams across the hospital to plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality equitable nutrition care to inpatients, and outpatients undergoing cancer treatment.

About You

• Hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Nutrition & Dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitian's Association of Australia or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer
• Extensive clinical Dietetics experience, with advanced clinical knowledge and demonstrated capability in the management of complex patients and provision of expert clinical advice
• Demonstrated leadership and management capability, including workforce management, staff development, performance management and the ability to build a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture
• Demonstrated ability to lead the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of Nutrition and Dietetics services, incorporating clinical governance, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and evaluation of service outcomes
• Demonstrated operational management capability, including effective management of workforce, financial and other resources, competing service priorities, risk and service performance
• Highly developed communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, including the demonstrated ability to build effective multidisciplinary relationships, influence decision-making and lead service improvement and change

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualifications and/or significant experience in health service leadership or management within a complex acute healthcare environment.
