Job summary

Communicare invites an experienced leader to head the Breathing Space Men's Behaviour Change Program in Western Australia. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based residential services to address violence while prioritising safety for women, children and families.

Job description

Are you an experienced leader passionate about creating safer families and communities?

Join our innovative Breathing Space Men's Behaviour Change Program and lead a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based residential behaviour change services that support men and young people to address the use of violence, while prioritising the safety and wellbeing of women, children and families. Working within a safe and therapeutic environment, you will provide leadership, operational oversight and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality service delivery and positive client outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing a high-performing specialist team.
  • Overseeing the delivery of evidence-based behaviour change interventions.
  • Managing service quality, compliance and risk management.
  • Building strong partnerships across the family and domestic violence sector.
  • Driving continuous improvement and maintaining the integrity of the Breathing Space program.

This is a permanent full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight and is responsible for our 2 sites (Calista and Mayland). Due to the nature of the position and industry, shift work and travel will be required.

About you
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or a related field, with specialist knowledge and/or significant experience in Family and Domestic Violence and Abuse (FDVA).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based interventions, behaviour change programs, counselling, assessment and case management services within the FDVA sector.
  • Proven leadership experience managing high-performing teams, providing professional supervision, and leading service delivery outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across community, government and Aboriginal organisations.
  • Advanced organisational, problem-solving, negotiation and advocacy skills, supported by sound financial and operational management capability.
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence and ability to obtain and maintain required clearances, including National Police Check, Working With Children Check and Department of Justice Clearance.
