Job summary

Queensland Government seeks an experienced intelligence professional to collect, record, and analyse information, and to prepare briefs on emerging threats and trends. You will negotiate priorities with management, mentor staff, and drive training and performance improvements.

The role requires strong communication, data-system literacy and a proven ability to deliver comprehensive reports and ethical leadership across a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Experience collecting, recording and analyzing intelligence information.
• Experience preparing briefs and presenting intelligence analysis to identify threats and trends.
• Negotiation and conflict resolution with management and staff on service delivery, priorities and resources.
• Ability to navigate corporate data information systems.
• Interpersonal skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders on sensitive issues.
• Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing trends in corrections, especially sentence administration.
• Sound knowledge of intelligence planning, processes and products.
• Preparation of complex reports and submissions.
• Ability to develop and facilitate training.
• Models professional and ethical behaviour consistently.

Job description

Strong system development experience regarding the collection, recording and analysis of intelligence information.Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting intelligence briefs in respect of the analysis of intelligence data and identifying emerging threats and trends.Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.Ability to navigate and utilise corporate data information systems.Interpersonal skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues.Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing trends associated with corrections specifically sentence administration activities.Sound knowledge of intelligence planning, processes and products.Preparation of complex reports and submissions.High level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Strong leadership with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage staff to meet the challenges of demanding work roles.Comprehensive understanding of office and analytical software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, iBase and Analysts Notebook.Ability to develop and facilitate training.Manages team performance by providing clear and accurate feedback to staff of progress and performance and takes responsibility for team development.Models professional and ethical behaviour consistently.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/700677/26Closing Date: Thursday, 24 September 2026This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
