Job description

Queensland Corrective Services is seeking an experienced and influential human resources leader to join People Capability Command as Manager, Human Resources - Centre Services. In this key leadership role, you will coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of human resources services to correctional centres. You will lead a portfolio of head office based Principal Consultant Human Resources Business Partners and HR Centre Services support functions, providing strategic direction and oversight across operational HR advice, payroll and timesheet support, rostering and workforce management, and establishment management. You will be responsible for leading a centralised HR function that delivers high quality, efficient and consistent services across correctional centres. Depending on the assigned portfolio, you will lead HR business partners and local HR teams within a Custodial Operations Command model, or lead a specialist rostering or Centre Services support function. A strong focus will be placed on building team capability, embedding contemporary HR practices, monitoring service delivery and promoting consistent approaches across locations. Working closely with senior leaders, managers and key stakeholders, you will provide authoritative advice, build strong and respectful relationships, and influence outcomes that support effective workforce management, governance and compliance. You will also work collaboratively with the other Manager, HR Centre Services to provide consistent portfolio leadership and operate interchangeably across portfolios when required. To be successful, you will demonstrate:proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and building capability and performanceextensive senior HR advisory experience, including support to senior leaders and complex case managementexperience in operational HR management, public safety, frontline service delivery or a highly unionised environmentstrong relationship, communication and influencing skillssound analytical and solution design capability, with experience improving HR processes, procedures and service delivery.Formal qualifications in human resource management, along with HR business partnering or frontline service experience, will be highly regarded.This permanent AO8 opportunity is based in Brisbane CBD.
