Job summary

Venues NSW is seeking a Manager, Emergency Management and Security Operations to provide strategic oversight of security infrastructure, contracted services, and emergency preparedness across its venues network.

You will lead security planning, supervise staff, ensure compliance with NSW acts, and work with stakeholders to deliver a safe, resilient environment for events at Sydney Cricket Ground, Allianz Stadium and regional hubs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ operational asset security and contract management experience, including leading people
• Tertiary qualifications in security, emergency management or precinct management
• Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis
• Valid Security Licence Class 1A and 2A
• RSA and First Aid certificates are required
• Strong report writing and communication skills with attention to detail

Manager - Emergency Management and Security Operations

Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.

Venues NSW takes an intergrated approach to our stadia and entertainment centres by developing partnerships with sporting codes, the entertainment and event industry, audiences, local businesses, NSW Government agencies and community groups. Our network throughout NSW allows us to combine internal resources and harness a vast employee skillset all of which helps us deliver key projects and secure outstanding content.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Manager, Emergency Management and Security Operations is responsible for the strategic oversight of security infrastructure, contracted security service delivery and emergency management preparedness across Venues NSW operations. This network wide role will work across all Venues NSW managed venues to ensure security systems, external providers and emergency response frameworks are effective, compliant and aligned with organisational safety, resilience and risk objectives.

You will provide strong operational leadership across security planning, contract management, supervision, training of security staff while working closely with internal stakeholders and external security providers to ensure a consistent and high standard of security and emergency management across the network.

You will need excellent communication and report writing skills, strong people leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to security, emergency management, compliance and risk.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated security professional who is committed to maintaining a safe, secure and resilient environment across Venues NSW. You will be a strong leader and communicator, with demonstrated experience in operational security, contract management and security planning.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum of three (3) years’ operational asset security and contract management experience, including proven ability to provide strong people leadership, operational security planning, supervision, training and education of security staff
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as event security, emergency management or precinct management, or an equivalent level of practical experience
• Extensive experience in emergency management planning
• Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• High standard of report writing and communication skills
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
• Understanding of relevant legislation, including the NSW Security Industry Act, Liquor Act, Inclosed Lands Protection Act, Sporting Venues Authorities Act and associated regulations
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Valid Security Licence Class 1A and 2A
