Fraser Coast Regional Council in Hervey Bay invites applications for a Manager Contracts in the Capital Delivery team. You will lead the Contracts section, overseeing procurement planning, tendering, constructability reviews and contract management to deliver robust commercial discipline and high-quality outcomes.

The role offers a competitive package: IFA Level 8 at AUD 151,485 p.a. plus super, relocation assistance, private vehicle use and extra recreation leave, with flexible working

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (AQF7+).
• Strong civil construction and contract management experience.
• Skilled in preparing specifications, BOQs, estimates and procurement documentation.
• Demonstrated client-side project management capability across scope, budgets, programs, quality, safety and compliance.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, standards, procurement and contractual risk allocation.
• Proven leadership capability in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead procurement and delivery of externally contracted civil infrastructure projects.
• Manage tendering, scopes, estimates and contract documentation in line with legislation and policy.
• Oversee constructability reviews and pre-contract planning with design teams and stakeholders.
• Administer construction contracts, including Superintendent duties, managing performance, variations, claims, cost, time, quality and safety.
• Establish and maintain contract management frameworks that support consistency, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop the Contracts team, managing priorities, capability and performance.

What we are looking for:

You will lead the Contracts section, overseeing procurement planning, tendering, constructability reviews and construction contract management. The role ensures robust commercial discipline, consistent contract practices, effective risk management and high-quality delivery outcomes. You will also provide strategic commercial and technical advice to the Executive Manager Capital Delivery.

What your day will look like:

What you’ll need for success:

• Proven leadership capability in a multidisciplinary environment.
