Job summary

University of New England (UNE) is seeking a skilled Digital Infrastructure professional to bridge the centralised Technology and Digital Services directorate with academic staff. You’ll develop, supply and maintain high-performance platforms that support teaching, learning and research, working closely with both academic and professional teams.

The role involves planning future requirements, budgeting and delivering compute platforms that underpin UNE’s teaching and research mission.

Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-user HPC and general-purpose compute systems.
  • Experience working in research and/or academic environments.
  • Highly skilled in Systems Administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collegial approach to collaboration.
  • Ability to consult and develop roadmaps and architectures to supply a diverse range of solutions.

Job description

Technology and Digital Services – Network Infrastructure

  • Continuing, full-time
  • $116,342 to $135,019 per annum HEO8 + 17% super
  • Salary packaging options available

About the role

This role functions as a critical bridge between the centralised Technology and Digital Services directorate and the academic research and teaching community.

The role works with academic staff to develop, supply and maintain platforms that support teaching and learning for highly technical courses and provide high performance and general-purpose compute for research.

You will need to liaise and work closely with both academic and professional staff to plan future requirements, determine upcoming demand, develop budgets and deliver platforms that are a critical part of UNEs teaching and research.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience with multi-user HPC and general-purpose compute systems
  • Experience working in research and/or academic environments
  • Highly skilled in Systems Administration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collegial approach to collaboration
  • An ability to consult and develop roadmaps and architecture to supply a diverse range of solutions

About the Department

This role is part of the Digital Infrastructure team within the Technology and Digital Services (TDS) directorate at UNE. TDS is responsible for the technology platforms, infrastructure, and digital services that support the University's teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations - from networks and cloud platforms to servers and end-user devices.
