About the role

The University of New England (UNE) is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to join the Data Services team within Technology and Digital Services. This is a specialist individual contributor role requiring deep technical expertise across integration architecture, data services, and identity and access management. You will design, build, and govern automated connections between UNE's enterprise systems — including student, HR, finance, and research platforms — working within a structured, policy-driven integration practice that underpins the university's core operational and strategic functions. This is a hands-on technical role Maybe making it: Operating at the intersection of complex systems, institutional data governance, and an environment where automation and AI-assisted tooling are increasingly central to how the university operates.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant degree and substantial experience in one or more of the following: systems integration, data, identity and access management, or enterprise platform development.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and governing integrations across enterprise systems, including RESTful APIs, web services, and API specification using the OpenAPI/Swagger framework. Experience with ESB and event-driven integration architectures is highly regarded.
  • Experience with automated testing approaches, including unit and integration test suites, and familiarity with AI/ML integration patterns including RAG and/or Model Context Protocol (MCP) interfaces and data pipeline design for AI consumption.
  • Proficiency with relational databases, with experience in Oracle databases and middleware platforms highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to produce clear, defensible technical documentation in a complex institutional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, including translating complex integration and data concepts for business stakeholders, with a disciplined autonomous work ethic and strong prioritisation capabilities.

This role offers the opportunity to shape UNE's digital future through innovative integration solutions that enhance data sharing and user experience across the university.
