Job summary

The Midfield Group in Warrnambool, Victoria is seeking a motivated Management Accountant to join our finance team. You will contribute to timely management reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis across business units from paddock to plate.

You will work with cross-functional stakeholders, maintain financial policies, and help drive process improvements within a private, vertically integrated organisation. This role offers on-site work with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Exposure to MRP systems and finance reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and monthly close processes.

Responsibilities

• Aid in timely production of management reports with commentary for business units, and analysis of sales, inventory, pricing and costing variations.
• Assist reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts including inventory and fixed assets.
• Develop and improve current reporting and analysis using existing systems.
• Assist with Operational/CapEx budget and team needs.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
• Investigate revenue-generating/cost-saving opportunities and ROI for CapEx initiatives.
• Monitor revenue, cost and margin targets.
• Investigate new or improved business processes and efficient use of technology.
• Help maintain financial policy, standards and procedures documentation.
• Create standard work instructions for finance tasks.
• Ensure procedures are followed and reviewed.

We are seeking a motivated and detail orientated Management Accountant to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Management and Financial Information

• Aid in the timely and accurate production of management reports including commentary for the various business units, analysis on sales, inventory, pricing and costing variations, material usage
• Help with the reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts including, but not limited to inventory and fixed assets across the Group
• Working with existing systems, you will have the opportunity to develop and improve the current reporting and analysis that is being produced
• Assist with the completion of Operational/CapEx budget and assist the team as required
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts

Revenue Generation

• Investigate revenue-generating / cost-saving opportunities, and CapEx initiatives, analyze potential ROI and pursue/action where appropriate
• Monitor revenue/cost and margin targets

Innovation

• Investigate new or more effective business processes and effective and efficient utilization of technology.

Adherence to Legislation, Policies and Procedures

• Help to develop and maintain financial policy, standards and procedures documentation
• Help develop and maintain standard work instructions for standard tasks within the finance department
• Conduct and monitor reviews to ensure procedures and adhered to

• Review and report on the monthly business activity including KPI’s
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, and ethical behavior always demonstrated
• Critical issues and business risks to be communicated on time
• Tertiary qualifications in appropriate fields e.g. Finance, Commerce, or Business
• CPA or CA Qualified or nearly qualified
• Current Australian Drivers' License
