Job summary

Oxbridge Group Pty Ltd in Tamborine Mountain, Queensland, is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join a full-time team. The role focuses on analysing financial performance and preparing management reports to support strategic decisions.

The successful candidate will manage budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and variance analyses, while ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with Australian standards. ERP projects and process improvements are also part of the remit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least three years of professional accounting or management-accounting experience.
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, cash-flow forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience using accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial-modelling skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and performance reports.

About the Position

The Management Accountant will analyse financial performance, prepare management reports and provide strategic financial advice to support the continued growth of the organisation.

This is a professional accounting position and does not involve primarily clerical, bookkeeping or accounting-assistant duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and financial-performance reports.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets and short-, medium- and long-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis and report findings to management.
• Analyse profitability by business division, service line and project.
• Conduct contribution-margin, break-even, NPV, IRR and payback-period analysis.
• Monitor financial and operational KPIs and recommend performance improvements.
• Prepare balance-sheet, bank and general-ledger reconciliations.
• Manage working-capital analysis and accounts-payable planning.
• Analyse foreign-currency transactions and exchange-rate impacts.
• Prepare audit workpapers and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with applicable Australian accounting standards and regulations.
• Assist with ERP implementation, finance-system improvements and process automation.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
• Provide financial advice and analysis to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least three years of relevant professional accounting or management-accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, cash-flow forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience using accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial-modelling skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

A Master of Professional Accounting or comparable postgraduate qualification, international accounting experience and knowledge of IFRS will be highly regarded.
