Job summary

Moir Group in Sydney is seeking a driven Management Accountant to join a fast-paced finance team, combining management accounting, business partnering and end-to-end payroll responsibilities. You will deliver monthly management reporting with variance analysis, lead budgeting and forecasting, and partner with operational stakeholders to improve commercial outcomes.

The payroll remit covers ~140 staff using Micropay, with scope to audit and streamline processes.

Qualifications

• Strong background in management accounting and commercial analysis.
• Experience in business partnering with operations.
• Hands-on payroll experience.
• Proficiency in Excel; Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reporting with variance analysis and commentary.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to drive financial insights.
• Perform month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

Role

Reporting into the CFO and Finance Manager, this is a broad Management Accountant combining management accounting, business partnering and responsibility for the full-function payroll function.

• Monthly management reporting, variance analysis and commentary
• Budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis
• Business partnering with operational stakeholders
• Month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing the full-function monthly payroll for approximately 140 employees using Micropay
• Supporting audit and continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting

Profile

You will have a strong background across management accounting, commercial analysis and business partnering, combined with hands‑on payroll experience.

Previous experience using Micropay is essential.

You will be commercially minded, analytical and confident partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Strong Excel skills are required, with Power BI experience highly regarded.

Benefits

Hybrid working arrangements. Office location in central Sydney close to public transport. Paying $70ph plus super. 6 month contract with potential to extend or become permanent.
