Job summary

Are Media is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Finance team, owning the full P&L of the Affiliate business and partnering with Advertising, Subscriptions, Memberships and Direct Marketing to drive performance.

Reporting to the Finance Business Manager, you’ll manage month‑end, budgeting and forecasting, deliver timely reporting, and translate financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting and CA/CPA qualification.
• 3+ years in management accounting or similar finance role.
• Strong Excel, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
• Ability to translate data into actionable business insights.

What you'll be doing

• Management Accounting & Reporting: Own accurate and timely month-end reporting across allocated revenue streams and cost centres, including journals, accruals, variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Commercial Analysis & Business Partnering: Build strong relationships across Advertising, Affiliate, Subscriptions, Memberships and Marketing, providing financial insights, profitability analysis and modelling to support commercial decisions, including full P&L management of the Affiliate business.

• Financial Controls & Reconciliations: Manage balance sheet and revenue reconciliations, support advertising billing and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, reconciliations and billing processes, improving efficiencies and strengthening financial controls.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

• A degree in Accounting, CA/CPA qualification and at least 3 years' experience in management accounting or a similar finance role.

• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis skills, with advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.

• Confidence partnering with stakeholders across different business functions, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.

• A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Experience with financial planning tools such as TM1, or within the media or advertising industry, would be advantageous.
