Job summary

Independent School in Adelaide's northern suburbs is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the finance team. You will deliver accurate financial reporting, monthly dashboards, variance analysis and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the organisation.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will manage month-end processes, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, BAS and payroll compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.
• Strong payroll processing and compliance knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP/finance systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards and variance analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Manage month-end activities, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process fortnightly payroll and oversee statutory reporting.
• Prepare BAS, payroll tax and other compliance obligations.
• Monitor cash flow and daily banking activities.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and support capex reporting.
• Assist with audit preparation and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with budget holders to provide financial insights and commercial support.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will be a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.You will bring:

• Degree qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Commerce
• Previous experience in management accounting, financial reporting and budgeting
• Strong payroll processing and compliance knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP or finance systems
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
