Job summary

Myxa Care is looking for a compassionate disability support worker in Melbourne to assist participants with personal care and daily living activities. You will help with medications, epilepsy and mealtime plans, and provide communication support and transportation.

The role requires teamwork, strong documentation, and a patient, caring approach. Essential qualifications include First Aid, Driver's Licence, and Australian working rights.

Qualifications

• NDIS knowledge and participant support requirements
• Experience or training in mealtime management
• Experience supporting NDIS participants with intellectual disabilities
• Excellent communication skills with cues and gestures
• Ability to document accurately and in detail
• Possession of a Driver's Licence and valid Working with Children Check
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Covid-19 vaccination proof
• Legal working rights in Australia

Responsibilities

• Provide full personal care assistance as required

About the role

Afternoon/Sleepover shifts will be available. Participantsupport requirements will include, full assistance with personal care, medication management, following an epilepsy management plan, following a mealtime management plan, communication assistance, transportation, community access, facilitating fun activities such as swimming, activities of daily living and independent living skills.

• A strong understanding of the NDIS and participant support requirements
• Experience and/or training in mealtime management
• Experience supporting NDIS participants with intellectual disabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to respond appropriately to cues and gestures
• Passion for building strong relationships and rapport with participants
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Ability to complete detailed and accurate documentation
• Enjoy facilitating fun activities
