Job summary

BE Campbell Group is seeking a Trade Assistant to join the Maintenance & Engineering team at our Wetherill Park site. You will work alongside licensed tradespeople, supporting daily maintenance, site activity, and project work in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on maintenance experience, basic mechanical aptitude, and a strong safety mindset. You will participate in 5S and continuous improvement while ensuring hygiene and site standards in a food manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Trade Assistant, facilities maintenance, construction or industrial maintenance role
• Basic mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools
• Strong focus on safety, organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment and comply with hygiene requirements
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work

Responsibilities

• Support electricians, fitters and contractors with day to day maintenance and site activities
• Assist with preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance in line with CMMS schedules
• Conduct routine site and safety inspections, escalating defects and hazards as required
• Complete general repairs, minor component replacements and upkeep of facilities
• Assist with site projects, shutdowns and equipment installations
• Follow WHS, GMP and HACCP requirements, including lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work processes under supervision
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across plant and maintenance areas
• Manage tools, materials, spare parts and waste in line with site procedures
• Actively participate in 5S, continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
