Job summary

ALSTOM Gruppe in Western Australia seeks Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for the Wheel Lathe Facility to maintain C-Series trains. Roles are night shift, based at Nowergup, with equipment operation and depot responsibilities.

Applicants should have Certificate III in Mechanical Trade, rights to work in Australia, and be prepared for CAT1 Rail Medical and rail vehicle operations within the depot. Training and development opportunities are provided within a global transport leader.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent Australian qualification.
• Working rights in Australia.
• Willingness to complete CAT1 Rail Medical and operate rail vehicles within depot.

Responsibilities

• Perform wheel lathe machining of the C-Series trains and other fleets.
• Support maintenance of plant facilities; may require day shifts occasionally.
• Utilise shunt tractors and train movements to assist wheel lathe activities.
• Support preventive, corrective, and fault-finding maintenance for safe fleet operations.
• Follow work instructions and quality standards to meet specifications and timeframes.
• Record maintenance activities, defects and progress in maintenance systems.
• Contribute to troubleshooting and breakdown response as required.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S housekeeping.
• participate in training and multi-skilling for operational flexibility.

Take on a new challenge and apply your Maintenance expertise, in a cutting-edge new field. You’ll report to the Maintenance Manager, and work alongside collaborative and dedicated teammates. We have several new opportunities available forMechanical Maintenance Techniciansworking primarily in theWheel Lathe Facility,to join our team responsible for the maintenance of theC-Series trains,based at our facilityinNowergup, Western Australia.In these positions, you will be working onpermanent night shift.We’lllook to you for:

Performing wheel lathe machining activities of the C-Series and other fleets when required.

Supporting maintenance of the plant facilities, which may require occasional day shift.

Utilising shunt tractors and train movements to support wheel lathe and operational activities.

Supportingpreventive, corrective, and fault-finding maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable fleet operations.

Following work instructions, procedures, and quality standards while delivering work to required specifications andtimeframes.

Recording maintenance activities, defects, and work progress accurately using relevant maintenance management systems.

Supporting troubleshooting, diagnostics, and breakdown response activities asrequired.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, workplace organisation, and 5S housekeeping standards.

Participating in ongoing training and multi-skilling opportunities to support operational flexibility.

Operating depot equipment and vehicles, including trainsets within depot limits (training provided), and other plant where appropriately licensed.

Maintaining compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements while promoting a Zero Harm andZero Defectculture.
