Job summary

Sharp & Carter in Geelong is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a team of technicians and drive a structured maintenance program across the site. You will develop the maintenance function, implement planning and reliability initiatives, and oversee progress toward a maintenance excellence agenda.

You will have a strong hands-on background, be capable of progressing into broader maintenance leadership, and work closely with production to minimise downtime while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Experience leading a maintenance team in manufacturing.
• Experience with planned and preventative maintenance systems.
• Exposure to maintenance reliability improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of maintenance technicians
• Drive current operations towards planned and preventative maintenance
• Improve maintenance planning, work order tracking and execution
• Lead progress against the site’s two year Maintenance Excellence programme
• Improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring breakdowns
• Build greater engagement across the maintenance team
• Provide hands on technical support where required
• Work closely with production and other site stakeholders
• Utilise SAP to manage and track maintenance activity

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following:

• Mechanical trade qualification with a strong hands on mechanical capability
• Proven track record in a Supervisory role with strong people leadership and trades management capability
• Experience within manufacturing, processing or a comparable industrial environment
• Exposure to planned and preventative maintenance systems
• Experience improving maintenance reliability, planning or work management
• SAP experience
• The capability and ambition to progress into broader maintenance leadership
