Job summary

Glencore Mount Isa Mines is seeking a Maintenance Officer to coordinate workshop parts and consumables, supporting maintenance planning and ensuring efficient workshop operations in Mount Isa, QLD. The role involves inventory control, SAP data management and working with a seasoned Mobile Maintenance team.

You will ensure parts availability for scheduled work, communicate risks, and contribute to continuous improvement while embracing a safe, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across maintenance and supply teams.
• Experience using SAP or CMMS systems is highly regarded.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
• Current manual driving licence is required.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate dispatch and receipt of maintenance parts for workshop rebuilds and maintenance activities.
• Work with planners, supervisors and warehouse staff to ensure parts availability for scheduled work.
• Monitor parts availability and communicate any supply risks or delays.
• Order parts, track deliveries and follow up on outstanding purchase requests.
• Receive, inspect and organise incoming parts; manage staging areas.
• Coordinate parts collection and delivery across the operation.
• Maintain workshop consumables stock levels; manage surplus inventory.
• Update parts information in SAP and support catalogue additions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency.

Our client, Glencore Mount Isa Mines, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join their Mobile Maintenance team, supporting the ISF & Rebuild Workshop. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of one of Australia's leading mining operations, playing a vital role in ensuring maintenance activities are supported through the efficient coordination and management of parts and materials.

Working closely with planners, supervisors, leading hands and tradespeople, you'll help keep maintenance schedules on track by ensuring the right parts are available at the right time, while maintaining strong communication across the maintenance and supply teams.

You will be responsible for coordinating workshop parts and consumables, supporting maintenance planning activities, and ensuring workshop operations run efficiently.

Your responsibilities:

• Coordinating the dispatch and receipt of maintenance parts to support workshop rebuild and maintenance activities.
• Working closely with maintenance planners, supervisors and warehouse personnel to ensure parts are available for scheduled work.
• Monitoring parts availability and proactively communicating any supply risks or delays.
• Ordering parts, tracking deliveries and following up outstanding purchase requests.
• Receiving, inspecting and organizing incoming parts within designated staging areas.
• Coordinating the collection and delivery of parts and components across the operation.
• Maintaining workshop consumable stock levels.
• Managing excess inventory registers and identifying opportunities to reduce surplus stock.
• Processing catalogue additions and maintaining accurate parts information within SAP.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workshop efficiency and reduce waste.
• Completing general administrative tasks and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Promoting a safe, collaborative and customer-focused working environment in line with Glencore's values.

About You:

• Previous experience in a maintenance support, workshop administration, stores or parts coordination role within mining or heavy industry.
• Willing to relocate to Mount Isa
• Exposure to mobile mining equipment, heavy earthmoving equipment or heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to work both independently and within a collaborative maintenance team.
• Experience using SAP or a similar Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly regarded.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• A current manual driver's licence.
• A current forklift licence, or the willingness to obtain one.
