Tassal is seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer in Strahan to maintain vessels and equipment, with occasional travel to Burnie to support the fleet. You will report to the Maintenance Manager in a full-time, Monday-to-Friday role, contributing to preventative and corrective maintenance, safety, and project support across operations.

The position emphasizes mechanical/hydraulic troubleshooting, electrical basics, and robust teamwork.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Basic understanding of 12-24V electrical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication or willingness to learn.
• Forklift and Coxswain tickets would be highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems to maintain peak performance.

• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Sourcing and managing spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Officer to join our team in Strahan. As part of the role, you will also travel to Burnie to support our vessels and equipment that contribute to the Blue Economy Zone initiative.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this full-time Monday-to-Friday role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, carry out varied maintenance activities and support ongoing projects across our operations.

What does a typical week consist of?

• Preventative and Corrective Maintenance:Performing regular maintenance on vessels and equipment to prevent issues and correct any that arise.
• Troubleshooting:Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems to maintain peak performance.
• Site Travel:Traveling between various sites to conduct maintenance work and support project activities.
• Team Collaboration:Working closely with team members to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
• Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Safety Compliance:Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Spare Parts Management:Sourcing and managing spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed.
