Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a reliable Maintenance Officer to support Retirement Living units across Marrickville, Thirroul, Kirrawee, Caringbah and neighboring locations. The role is full-time (76 hours per fortnight) with a company car provided to assist travel between sites.

You will perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and garden maintenance, while overseeing preventative and reactive tasks to keep properties and gardens in top condition for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification is highly preferred
• Current driver’s license is required
• Knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices
• Experience as a Maintenance Person in Retirement Living is preferred
• Experience in building, fitter and turner, welder or plumber is desirable
• Physically capable of performing maintenance tasks including gardening and lifting

Responsibilities

• Provide basic maintenance repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building tasks
• Perform gardening tasks such as mowing lawns and garden upkeep
• Undertake preventative maintenance per site calendar
• Undertake reactive maintenance as directed across the area
• Monitor works to ensure regulatory compliance and safety
• Support WHS policies and procedures
