Job summary

Vincent Court in New South Wales is seeking a Maintenance Officer to ensure the home remains safe, functional and welcoming for residents, visitors and staff. You will support day-to-day maintenance, safety and presentation of the facility, working with the leadership team to uphold a resident-first environment.

The role is permanent part-time (32 hours per fortnight) with a base rate of $29.98 per hour plus penalties, 12% super and 17.5% leave loading, along with salary packaging and employee

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Officer in aged care.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and lift/move equipment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental safety audits and address hazards.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance per schedule and compliance.
• Respond to corrective maintenance requests promptly.
• Coordinate external contractors as required.
• Assist with room setups, equipment moves, and safe workspaces.
• Maintain grounds and gardens to a clean, safe standard.
• Support waste management practices and safety records.

The Role

As a Maintenance Officer in aged care, you will play an important role in ensuring the home remains safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff. Working closely with the leadership team, you will support the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and presentation of the facility, contributing to a comfortable and homelike environment for older people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental safety audits and address identified hazards and maintenance concerns
• Complete planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules and compliance requirements
• Respond to corrective maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Perform general maintenance tasks and coordinate external contractors where required
• Assist with room setups, equipment moves, and maintaining safe workspaces
• Maintain grounds and gardens to a clean, tidy, and safe standard
• Support effective waste management practices, including coordination of specialised waste services
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and elevate critical safety issues as required

This is a permanent part-time position offering 32 hours per fortnight.

You’ll Have:

• Previous experience in as a Maintenance Officer
• Trade Certificate (desirable)
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks
• Unlimited working rights in Australia – MANDATORY
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain
• Ability to operate gardening tools and equipment safely
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces
