Job summary

Bolton Clarke on the Gold Coast seeks a Maintenance Officer to perform general maintenance and repairs of buildings, fixtures and fittings across aged care facilities. You will supervise site contractors, manage maintenance budgets and ensure safe, compliant environments for residents and staff.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, at least two years in a similar role, and current driving license.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with building maintenance procedures.
• Minimum 2 years in a similar role.
• Experience supervising site contractors.
• Experience managing budgets, work orders and requisitions.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards.
• Moderate computer literacy.
• Current driver’s license.
• Pre-employment medical assessment required.
• Must complete National Police Check or NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain).

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of facilities, fixtures and fittings.
• Supervise and coordinate site contractors to deliver tasks within timelines.
• Maintain a safe, aesthetically compliant environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Carry out planned maintenance as per Maintenance Plan and legal requirements.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation and budget/workflow procedures.
• Use preferred suppliers and operate within approved budgets.
• Complete scheduled tasks within agreed timelines.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, our Maintenance Officer is responsible for delivering general maintenance and repairs of buildings, fixtures and fittings, Homes and associated structures in accordance with the Home Maintenance Plan to provide a pleasant and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.

• Manage and undertake inspection & delivery of statutory, preventative & corrective maintenance of the facility
• Provide supervision and coordination of site contractors
• Ensure an aesthetic, compliant and safe working environment
• Ensure maintenance and repairs of property including facilities including cleaning, painting, lighting maintenance, TV installations, hanging paintings, disposal of rubbish, checking and maintaining air conditioning, tiling, basic plumbing, furniture removal, and general repairs
• Ensure planned maintenance of Home assets are executed in accordance with the Maintenance Plan and legislative requirements
• Ensure all maintenance activity complies with relevant legislation
• Use preferred suppliers where relevant and ensure all works are conducted within budget and follow workflow procedures
• Carry-out scheduled tasks within agreed timelines

To be successful you will have:

• Hands on experience of building maintenance work and procedures
• Min 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience in Contractor Management
• Experience in managing site maintenance budgets, work orders and requisitions
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Knowledge & application of relevant legislation requirements, codes & standards
• Moderate Computer literacy
• Current drivers’ licence
• A pre-employment medical assessment will be required for this role
• Prior to commencement - complete aNational PoliceCheckand or a NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain)
