Talent Corp is representing a leading packaging manufacturer with a South‑Eastern Sydney facility. The maintenance leader will own the maintenance function, combining visible leadership on the factory floor with planning, budgeting and reliability improvements.

You will lead mechanical and electrical maintenance teams, strengthen preventative maintenance, and turn breakdown data into practical reliability actions while partnering with production to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance leadership experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong experience in preventative maintenance planning and execution.
• Ability to translate breakdowns and performance data into reliability improvements.
• Experience managing large maintenance budgets, contractors and critical spares.
• Collaborative approach with production to minimise downtime and maintain safe operations.

Our client:
Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer with an extensive national presence and a strong commitment to sustainability. Their South-Weastern Sydney facility is one of the group's highest-volume sites, offering a rewarding challenge for a practical maintenance leader.

The role:
Take ownership of the maintenance function, combining visible leadership on the factory floor with planning, budgeting and reliability improvements. You'll work with an experienced team and established equipment, using your technical judgement and resourcefulness to deliver lasting results.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.
  
• Strengthen preventative maintenance planning and execution.
  
• Turn breakdown and performance data into practical reliability improvements.
  
• Manage a large maintenance budget, contractors and critical spares.
  
• Partner with production to minimise downtime and maintain safe operations.
  

Skills and experience:

• Mechanical or electrical trade or engineering qualifications.
  
• Maintenance leadership experience within packaging, FMCG or high-volume manufacturing.
  
• Strong troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and budget management skills.
  
• A confident, approachable leadership style that earns respect and builds trust.
  
• A positive, practical approach to solving problems, including getting hands-on when required.
  

Corrugated packaging experience will be highly regarded.
