Job summary

Veeco Pallets is seeking a Maintenance Leading Hand to lead daily workshop operations and mentor a small team in a hands-on maintenance role. You will drive improvements while following a 9‑day fortnight with every second Monday off.

The role is permanent full-time with a shift from 5:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Friday. The position offers progression into a senior leadership role and involvement in plastics manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a small team in a workshop setting.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Good organisational skills and resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and mentor a team of 3 to 8 people.
• Allocate resources, organise maintenance, lead by example and support production.
• Perform fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs on equipment, including basic PLC faults.
• Manage spare parts stock levels and ordering replacements.
• Coordinate with external technicians and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and mentor a team of 3 to 8 people.

About You

• Trade qualification: Cert III in Mechanical / Electrical or better
• Previous experience in a supervisory or Leading Hand role
• Strong fault-finding and organisational skills
• Experience with injection moulding machines or plastics manufacturing

Advantage:

• Lean and/or six sigma experience
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic or PLC systems
• Skills in welding and fabrication
